Barbara Deaton, FNP-BC

Barbara Deaton earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Winston Salem. Then, she obtained her Master’s Degree with honors from the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at UNC Wilmington in 2000.
Barbara settled in Morganton in 2001 and has found fulfillment in providing compassionate and affordable healthcare. Her mission is to provide the best quality care for her community. This mission led her to open Psalms Urgent Care Clinic in 2010 and then to expand services in 2014 by starting Solid Rock Primary Care.
Throughout her career, she has gained a wealth of experience in emergency medicine, women’s health, and family medicine and received numerous awards, including “Excellence in Nursing,” “Burke County Emergency Physician Award,” and “Business of the Year Award.” Recently, she joined the Med First family and looks forward to continuing to provide high-quality healthcare to the community she cares for.

Outside of the medical profession, Barbara enjoys traveling abroad and has been to many countries. When Barbara is not traveling, she loves spending time with her family and her beloved pets.
