Abas Omar, PA- C

Abas Omar was born in Somalia and moved to the United States at nine years old. Abas has lived in Buffalo, New York, for most of his life. He graduated from the University at Buffalo with a biology degree in 2015 and then worked for two years as an EMT. After discussing the Physician Assistant career with a friend, Abas decided to go for the goal and applied to the D’Youville University PA Program in Buffalo. He was accepted and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2021.
Abas began his career as a PA working in Orthopedics & Sports Medicine. A year and a half later, he decided to take a giant leap and relocate from Buffalo to Greenville, North Carolina, where he has been practicing Urgent Care Medicine for the past year, helping his patients focus on their health and prevent chronic disease.
He loves practicing medicine because it is an opportunity to help bridge a representation gap and build community trust.
In his spare time, Abas loves outdoor activities like hiking and traveling.
