This marks the group’s fourth clinic acquisition in the past 12 months.

Raleigh, N.C., Sept. 21, 2023 – Today, Med First Primary & Urgent Care (Med First), an independent primary care group, announced that Primary & Immediate Care of the Pines has joined the organization, bringing the total number of Med First clinics to 24 throughout North and South Carolina.

Bertha Taylor-Miller, FNP-C, has provided Primary Care services in North Carolina for 18 years, serving patients in Duplin and Moore Counties. She founded Primary & Immediate Care of the Pines in 2018 to bring additional independent primary care services to the fast-growing Moore County area. Taylor-Miller had previously partnered with Med First on the addition of her Kenansville practice, Carolina Coast Primary Medicine, to the group in 2016.

“Caring for our patients in the Aberdeen community over these past five years has brought me an incredible sense of fulfillment while allowing me to be closer to my three wonderful granddaughters. As I began to plan the future of my practice, I knew Med First was a partner that would allow me to continue working with my patients while giving me the freedom to spend even more time with my family,” said Taylor-Miller. “They understand the growing needs of this community and are excited to support our team and our patients. Our patients will continue to have a care team that knows them instead of the brand-name urgent care centers and large health systems. I look forward to partnering with Med First to continue serving my patients for the foreseeable future.”

Med First helps independent practitioners and their teams address the increasing demands of family medicine in an evolving healthcare environment. They offer the resources and expertise to help practices avoid hospital acquisition and achieve long-term financial stability. Through significant investment in a quality management group and a strong ACO partnership, Med First provides clinic-level support by combining technology with an in-house team of quality experts.

“We couldn’t be happier to welcome Bertha and her team to the Med First family, and we are honored she chose to partner with us again. The addition of Primary & Immediate Care of the Pines helps to progress our mission to provide the highest quality of care and service to patients throughout the Carolinas. Expanding into the Moore County area allows Med First to continue Bertha’s work and grow the practice as the County experiences serious growth over the coming years.”
