Hello There! We’re back with more weight loss tips from our “10 tips for weight loss” series. We want to help you reach your weight loss goals and live a healthy lifestyle by giving you simple but effective wellness tips.

Tip #5: Set a goal:

Weight loss takes time. Therefore, it is important to set weight loss goals. Having a goal keeps you motivated, focused, and organized. Goals give you direction and are tools to measure your success. A good strategy for setting a weight loss goal is making it a SMART goal. A SMART Goal stands for Sustainable, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-limited.  Saying “I want to lose weight” is a desire and setting a SMART goal is an objective. To set goals that are achievable, start with small goals. For example, your goal can be going to the gym twice a week or limiting soda to only one day a week. By setting short term goals, you are more likely to reach your end goals and not feel overwhelmed during the process.

Tip #6: Keep a food journal:

It is common to overestimate the amount of food we eat during a day. We don’t always count snacks or liquid calories. Writing down everything you eat not only helps you to monitor your calories, but also helps you keep track of the choices you are making. If you keep a food diary, you’ll have a clear picture of some food choices that might be keeping you stuck.
