Terri Cates, MD

A native of Roxboro, Dr. Cates attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and obtained her undergraduate degree in 1998. She then attended the UNC School of Medicine and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. Deciding to pursue her love for pediatrics, she went on to complete a residency at UNC Children’s Hospital and has now been practicing in pediatrics for more than ten years. She enjoys being a part of the family unit and having the privilege to watch children grow and develop. Dr. Cates is a big believer in preventive medicine and the importance of educating people on how healthy habits are directly linked to positive health outcomes. She loves partnering with parents to advocate for her patient’s well-being and serves on Person County’s Child Protection Team, a team dedicated to the welfare of children in this community. She is a devoted wife and mother of two lovely daughters and in her free time, Dr. Cates enjoys reading, cooking, exercise, travel, gardening, canoeing, and hiking.
