James Lessard, PA-C

James was born and raised in New York, where at age 17, he joined the local fire department and ambulance squad. That began his passion for medicine and patient care. He then enlisted in the Navy where he spent 14 years enlisted before being commissioned and graduating from the Interservice Physician Assistant Program and the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
James has had the privilege of practicing medicine around the world and he brings a very diverse amount of experience to Med First, having served two aircraft carrier tours, acted as a medical advisor to the Afghan Army, NATO liaison in Madrid Spain, and several tours taking care of Marines, from Hawaii to Japan, and all over Southeast Asia.
James retired from the US Navy after 24 years of Service but his drive to help people and be active in any community he has been a part of has stayed strong. One of his longtime passions has been working with the homeless, serving meals, training volunteers, or just sitting and listening to life stories.
In his off time, James loves to travel the world and try new wines with his wife or take friends out sailing. To recharge, he and his wife both love teaching group fitness classes together at local gyms.
James is passionate about caring and advocating for his patients and looks forward to serving the Jacksonville community at our Western Blvd Location.
