Deena Craig, PA-C

Deena Craig is a nationally certified physician assistant with 24 years of experience, having graduated from Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Bowman Gray campus, in August of 1994. After graduation, she moved to Orlando, Florida where she lived and worked for 16 years. During that time, Deena saw patients of all ages, for acute and chronic care and rounded on inpatients at two hospitals, also doing admission H&Ps. During her first job, she also did medical care for inpatient psychiatric patients. Over the years Deena has have worked alongside board-certified physicians in the areas of family practice, internal medicine/pediatrics (double boarded), and geriatrics.

For the last four years, Deena worked in the Family Medicine Department of the Naval Medical Center at Camp Lejeune. Having started out in 1991 as a medic in the Army Reserves, our military holds a special place in her heart and her tenure at Camp Lejeune has been a highlight of her career. Deena provided medical care to our active duty Marines and Navy personnel as well as their dependents and retirees.

Deena also ran two rural health clinics in North Carolina, prior to working at Camp Lejeune, providing health care to our state’s neediest. The population had a high incidence of diabetes, HTN, chronic kidney disease, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease. As such she has a special interest in the complex patient and the role of preventive medicine in long-term health.
